SUBJECT: WWMS Bulldog Bark: October 2024

October 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Wilson Families,

It has been quite a few weeks. My heart goes out to all of you who suffered any type of loss due to the storms. Please know that there are resources available to assist you during this time and our Student Services team is available to help you connect with these outside resources. Please reach out to our Social Worker, Ms. Martin, or either one of our counselors, Ms. Sobo or Ms. Mirasola. We also have gift cards that were donated by your fellow Bulldog families to help with the replacement of school supplies, clothing, food, etc. Please contact your child's counselor and we'd be happy to forward these to you.

Please continue reading this edition of the Bark for all the information you need for the month of October.

GREAT JOB STUDENTS!

The Wilson Business Technology students are having another successful school year.

In the 7th Grade Digital Discoveries classes, all students passed their ICT Cybersecurity Certification Exams. Now, they are learning HTML and how to create their own web pages.

In the 8th Grade Digital Information Technology classes, we are halfway through the Small Business and Entrepreneurship curriculum, so the students will take their ESB Certification Exam before the end of the first semester.

Thank you to Mobley Homes Custom, Heather, and Marc Mobley for their generous donation to Wilson PTSA and for sponsoring September's restock of the teacher's lounge fridge!

We are hoping to make this our BEST Fall Festival event yet, and you can help! Here's how:

  • Purchase early bird admission bands now and add on Fun Tickets for even more opportunities to play games and get in on the action!
  • Consider becoming a Fall Festival sponsor! Several packages are available which include tickets and other benefits, but also helps the PTSA maximize its impact at Wilson!
  • Make a donation of supplies or time needed to make the event run smoothly. Click here or the image below to sign up!
ATTENTION: 8th GRADE GIRLS!!!!

Why Define Us is a club dedicated to empowering young women in 8th grade. The club is run by Plant High School Juniors and Seniors. The topics discussed include self-confidence, the effects of social media, goal setting, peer pressure, body image, and more. You may even ask questions about the transition to high school. Meetings will take place once a month on Fridays at 9:00 am. The next meeting will take place on Friday, November 1st at 9:00 am in the multipurpose room.

All are welcome. Donuts provided!
