SUBJECT: WWMS Bulldog Bark: August 2024

August 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Bulldog Families,

We're off to a terrific start! The kids are settling in and teachers have finished going over classroom and school wide procedures and have begun diving into their curriculum. If you haven't already done so, please sign and return the emergency card, code of conduct, and any other form that pertains to you in the first day packet that went home on Monday as soon as possible.

How can YOU make a positive impact at Wilson this year without committing any time out of your already busy schedule? I encourage our families and local businesses to consider joining the PTSA Family Membership Drive. With your pledge, you will instantly be a supporter of the PTSA's initiatives to recognize student success, thank our teachers and staff with monthly appreciation efforts, provide mini-grant funds for the purchase of supplemental curriculum and educational resources (over $1,200 worth of grants have already been submitted), and plan programs and events that bring our Bulldog community together. We hope to make this our most extraordinary year to date, so we hope you will join us!

Please continue reading so you can keep up with everything that is going on here at Wilson Middle School.

Principal, Wilson Middle School

PTSA FAMILY MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

Please join the Wilson PTSA in our 2024-2025 Family Membership Drive. Becoming a member or making a pledge with a family partnership helps us to provide student incentives, supports staff appreciation efforts, offer family outreach programs and plan events that bring our school community together. Your membership does not obligate you to any time commitment, but we welcome all volunteers when your time and availability permits.

The PTSA was able to provide our Wilson teachers and staff a brand-new refrigerator for their lounge at the start of the school year.

Thank you for all who have contributed thus far to our Family Membership Drive. Without your continued support we would not be able to provide these services!

The Wilson Foundation hosts the Bulldog Bash, an annual fundraising event benefiting Wilson Middle School. Proceeds from the Bulldog Bash fund the needs of Wilson Middle School that go beyond what is covered by state and county funding.

The success of our most recent "Party in the Garden" and "Old School" events enabled us to purchase technology upgrades, including laptops/laptop carts and additional security cameras to promote the safety of our students, as well as support classroom and teacher needs. We were also able to fund the Foundation Campus Beautification Project, an ongoing effort to beautify our campus, school, and grounds.

This year's Bulldog "Halloween Bash" will be held on October 25th at the DI Garden Club. Proceeds will fund our much-needed bike rack/walkway cover and continued beautification efforts. Save the date and plan to join us to "Eat, Drink & Be Scary"!

Information about our Halloween Bash, Sponsorship Opportunities, and Registration/Ticket Information can be found on the new website!
